Affordable Housing

The Klondike–Smokey City CDC (KSCCDC) Affordable Housing Program is dedicated to expanding housing options that are financially accessible to low- and moderate-income individuals and families. Our mission is to reduce the financial burden of housing costs and ensure that every resident—regardless of income—has access to safe, stable, and dignified living conditions.

KSCCDC is a certified Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) through the City of Memphis and holds key real estate from the Land Bank to support affordable housing development.

Guided by the neighborhood plan and informed by market data, KSCCDC strategically targets areas most in need of investment. Together with community members and partners, we have legally established a Community Land Trust, a long-term tool that supports affordability, prevents displacement, and strengthens neighborhood ownership.

KSCCDC is actively developing a range of housing solutions, including:

  1. Affordable family housing

  2. Senior housing

  3. New housing products that strengthen local markets

  4. Anti-gentrification strategies to protect long-term residents

To date, KSCCDC has renovated twelve affordable rental units, marking an important step toward a more equitable and resilient housing landscape
